7 TIPS TO KEEP YOUR COMPUTER SAFE FROM HACKERS

Hey guys in this post I will be sharing with you a few tips to keep your PC safe from hackers as I have been receiving a lot of questions asking me for tips and as to what is the best antivirus software for PC

DISCLAIMER! — These tips do not guarantee that you will not be hacked but are just some precautions that can be taken to protect your PC.

• First of all, avoid clicking suspicious links. Whenever we come across a link whether it’s on our mobile or PC claiming to be giveaways from Amazon a lot of us just blindly open it and participate. In the end, there will a message asking us to share it with 20 or so people on Whatsapp to receive the prize. PLEASE DO NO DO THIS. The links that you click on aren’t secure and can be used to obtain sensitive information from your device.
• Avoid downloading mod apps or cracked version of applications. There are a lot of people (me included) who use a cracked version of Adobe Photoshop as the original version isn’t free. If you’re using such cracked applications scan the folder that contains the app as soon as you download it from the internet. This will help in detecting virus or malware in it and can be deleted.
• Please avoid using the inbuilt Windows Defender as it’s useless if a virus has infected your computer. It is only effective only against some very basic forms of malware and is useless in nearly all other cases.
• Run a full virus scan at least once or twice a month just to be on the safer side as malicious code can be inserted even into pictures or PDF files which can be used to hack your computer.
• Use antivirus software of well-established ones like Kaspersky or BitDefender as they are the best. I would recommend going for the paid version as it isn’t that expensive but the features you get are very good when compared to the free ones.
• Make sure that the website uses HTTPS before any sort of sensitive information like credit card details, bank details, passwords etc (I have made a dedicated post on HTTP Vs HTTPS you can read that to know more).
• Contact help immediately if you fell your computer is acting strange or if you feel that your security has been compromised as the longer you delay repairing your PC the more control the hacker has and the harder it gets to repair it.

It is extremely important to be careful while using your computer as nowadays we have become so dependant on them and a lot of our information is stored on our mobiles and laptops. And this information in the wrong hands can cause a lot of trouble. So follow these tips to keep your devices safe.
